Replacing global fossil fuel consumption with solar would require... 274 billion panels, consuming 96 billion barrels of oil, a trillion cubic feet of natural gas, and 23 billion tons of coal for mining, manufacturing, and installation. Mining spews out acid rain, wastewater, and heavy metals onto land, water, and air. Solar panels last 15-20 years, necessitating repeated mining, smelting, and manufacturing each generation. Solar doesn't provide 24/7 power, requiring additional gas plants for backup. The second law of thermodynamics limits efficiency. Solar is an industrial treadmill of endless mining, manufacturing, waste, and battery production for backup, creating more waste. Claims of wind turbine capacity value have been hugely... exaggerated by wind industry officials, lobbyists and regulatory agencies. A 1 MW (1,000 kW) wind turbine that produces 2,190,000 kWh of electricity during a year has achieved a capacity factor of 25%. That is 2,190,000 kWh divided by 1,000 kW x 8,760 hours; or 2,190,000 divided by 8,760,000 = .25). When they tell you a 2 MW wind turbine can power 500 homes in reality it can only power 125 homes but that also requires the ramping up and down of coal/natural gas/nuclear or hydro plants. Wind and solar can never power society no matter what the politicians and green grifters tell you. In fact if they are telling you this, they are lying. The studs will hold the Chinese-made solar panels that were constructed and shipped with fossil fuels and rare earth minerals. Only Africa Can Save Europe Originating from COP28, the... TeraMed project aims to generate 1 TW of solar energy in North Africa, creating around 3 million direct and indirect jobs. This would currently account for about 83% of the European Union's total installed electricity capacity, including renewables, fossil fuels, and nuclear (approximately 1.2 TW as of late 2025). If this target were raised from 1 TW to 1.5 TW, the European Union would more than double its current installed capacity of about 1.2 TW, reaching a total of roughly 2.7 TW, which would exceed twice the American capacity (around 1.3 TW) and near three-quarters of the Chinese capacity (around 3.8 TW). Based on TeraMed's estimates, it would require investments of $1 trillion, generating around 4.5 million jobs in North Africa and Europe. The installation project would take between 6-10 years, though it could be accelerated with aggressive engineering and strong political will. So far, in more than one year, TeraMed has not installed a single panel, highlighting the lack of coordination among Europeans in defining their energy, industrial, and economic policy priorities. With 1.5 TW of electricity generated, industrial costs in Europe would drop significantly, fulfilling the first stage to retain and attract industries. However, a second pillar would still need to be completed: natural gas. All current pipeline projects in Africa are timid, from Mauritania and Senegal to Mozambique. Investments of $20 billion and 20,000 km of pipelines would be required across several African countries, but primarily a robust Nigerian pipeline capable of transporting at least 70 bcm, which alone would meet 20% of Europe's demand. This is a project that would take at least 10 years, though it could be accelerated at the same pace as the solar panels. These are the reasons why the war must end, and Europe must get back on track. The cost of the war far exceeds the resources sent to Ukraine. Estimates suggest that total war-related costs, including aid to Ukraine, weapons, refugees, energy losses, and sanction impacts, exceed $1.5 trillion. For these and other reasons, I always say that warmongers are the true saboteurs of Europe. Moreover, engaging in free trade agreements like those with Mercosur or Indonesia won't help, as such high energy costs will make it difficult to compete in those markets as well. The Germans are desperately trying to offset losses with solar panels, but their efficiency is 2-3 times lower than panels installed in North Africa. Therefore, a supranational plan is needed. Installing panels alone won't solve the problem if they aren't efficient enough to restore industrial competitiveness and lower overall costs. Both investments in solar panels and gas would pay for themselves in just a few years, repositioning Europe to compete in the global market, and more than that, luring back companies that have already migrated to Asia. It’s green, industrial, and economic, and it generates both local and foreign jobs, bringing development and opportunities to these countries, just as the Chinese are doing in some countries.show more

Lithium mining activity going on at the Old Oyo... Once a bike enters the forest, there are about 7 - 8 checkpoints within the forest which is controlled by locals providing security for miners in the forest. Each of this checkpoint charges each bike per trip ranging from 100naira, 200,300 and 500naira while the last checkpoint which will lead you to Daba (illegal mining) charges 2,700naira per trip. And the estimated population of the bikes plying through the area is around 3000 to 5000 bikes. Which is significantly increasing, the mining which has started about 8yrs ago has been accepted by all parties both locals and foreigners including the Chinese who are actively participating in buying the minerals there. It is an organized crime and has many wings because those who do not mine but just look for logistics companies to pick up the items earn about 500,000 naira on each truck they bring forward. The local security earn more than 300,000 naira daily for those recieving 100naira as gate fee. Quite a staggering press conference by the Power Minister... I must say... Here is a point by point summary of the presser which may be helpful. 1. He starts off by admitting hamaray control mein kuch bhi nahin... 2. Then he says PMLN ne hamesha ke liye awam ko load shedding ke azab se azad kiya, in a presser about excessive load shedding for which he is apologising. 3. He first admits the role of LNG shortages in the load shedding issue, contradictory to the govt trying to press that this is because of reduced hydro electricity production. 4. Then he pivots to say that the issue is indeed of hydro electricity; a 1700 MW shortfall because the water cannot be released; effectively blaming the agriculture sector. Ridiculous, because the reservoirs are for irrigation, and hydroelectric production is a by product. It is the inability to plan for this that is on the govt. 5. Then he says there is no loadshedding during daylight hours, because of solar production - the same solar the govt tried to discredit. The claim is not true. Scores of feeders in Peshawar are seeing unannounced all day outages. 6. Then he says we have double the production capacity from gas (that we can't use because we have no more gas), and that we are using all the furnace oil in the country; effectively saying there is a fuel crisis in the country. 7. Then he says the wag the dog kneejerk power strategy effectively also led to industrial load shedding, so now the govt is damaging the economy as well as making consumers furious. 8.
