Audio from crash you can hear the tower react: So the helicopter pilot confirmed he had eyes on the CRJ coming into land, requested and received visual separation, then continued on the same course he was on and 15 second later collided with the CRJ?

I’m thinking he thought he saw the CRJ but actually was looking at something else, likely another aircraft in the area.

A dad named Jacob noticed that a girl in his daughter's class looked familiar, with his daughter even calling her 'her twin'. But after looking closely at a photo of the little girl, he stopped cold, understanding that his marriage might be in question, Here's the full story 👇

So if pilot confirmed visual/why didn't he change his course? Per this flight path he makes an obvious turn towards DCA/the plane.

Saw an earlier post suggesting the heli pilots might have had their eyes on another plane that was departing, and air traffic control mistakenly thought they were referring to the incoming AA flight when they said they had eyes on the plane. No idea if that's been confirmed.

Thats when the auto pilot kicked in and the pilots could have lost control to a rogue faction.

the helicopter seems to turn into the path of the plane.

The helo pilot was most likely fixated on the departing aircraft, not the approaching aircraft. Loss of SA

Those Air Traffic Controllers are having a bad night. (not as bad as the passengers on both flights though...💔🙏🏻

Wow!

Did the helicopter have a pilot? If yes. Did the pilot auto eject before flying the bird into the plane? ✈️
