I would never try to have a truck behind me on city roads as there will be so many gaps and people driving madly on both sides of the road. Change lanes early or let the truck overtake us.

Yesterday I drove to Cologne. Since FSD is still unavailable in Germany, I had to rely on Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) for the entire trip. Honestly, it was a disappointing experience. EAP makes frequent steering corrections, changes lanes poorly, and feels far less predictable and confidence-inspiring. On roads with unclear lane markings, it constantly wanders left and right, which doesn’t feel safe. After driving over 10,000 km with FSD, the difference is impossible to ignore. FSD drives much more naturally, stays smoother in its lane, and anticipates traffic far better. FSD needs to come to all of Europe as soon as possible. The difference in both comfort and safety is huge.

Here’s my first drive on Tesla FSD V14.2. For the first time on V14, I had zero hesitation or braking issues all day, and no interventions. From a driving perspective, and after 85 miles on and off-camera on V14.2 today, it now feels as comfortable, if not more so, than V13 did, but with all the capabilities of V14. What’s new in FSD V14.2: • Self-Driving stats section that tells you exactly how many Self-Driving miles you’ve driven and the percentage of FSD miles • You can now select speed profiles and parking preferences while in park • Upgraded the neural network vision encoder, leveraging higher resolution features to further improve scenarios like handling emergency vehicles, obstacles on the road, and human gestures • Big improvement (in my experience) to overall everyday driving comfortability • Slightly less strict attention monitoring at times In my opinion, V14.2 is good enough to be sent to every AI4 owner where FSD is legal, and for Tesla to encourage non-FSD owners/subscribers to try it. FSD did have a couple weird navigation decisions it made in my video, but that’s my only complaint. Overall, great version of FSD. 4K YouTube version of my video in thread below:

This is a very serious safety issue for FSD in China and needs immediate attention. When tall grass or dense vegetation grows very close to the edge of a narrow road, FSD can sometimes misinterpret it as part of the drivable surface. In reality, the road often ends abruptly, with a drop-off or unsupported edge beyond it. During oncoming traffic situations, FSD may move too far to the side and attempt to drive beyond the actual road boundary. In my experience with V14, I have already had to perform three critical interventions because the vehicle was about to drop a wheel off the road edge. I spent over 4 hours driving today on Tesla FSD, and even though I’ve had so much experience with it, I’m constantly amazed by it. People will never understand how transformative it is until they experience it firsthand. It removes all anxiety and road rage. My car drove me over 115 miles today. It parked, navigated downtown with pedestrians and traffic everywhere, then drove me home without me ever touching the steering wheel or pedals, all with just a push of a button. This is the future. Those who experience FSD daily understand. You can never live without it. Your whole perception of what a car is will change completely. I grew up loving all types of cars and still do. But FSD has completely rewired my brain. This is what I enjoy now, it gives me freedom and allows me to relax because I know it’s safer than I could ever be. Only Tesla offers this experience.

Another moment of FSD chills. If you aren’t using FSD daily but want to understand what makes it so special and mind-blowing, watch this entire clip. V14.2 approaches a cyclist on a winding, rural back road with blind turn after blind turn. For nearly 2 minutes, FSD patiently follows the cyclist, keeping a safe distance as we navigate blind bend after blind bend. When FSD finally has enough visibility distance, it hits the accelerator and executes the pass. This is exactly how I would’ve handled this. The moment it passed is the exact moment I would’ve passed. All prior opportunities were too risky due to lack of distance visibility. It is in these moments where subtle, but complex intelligence emerges. It didn’t used to be like this. We’ve watched this level of intelligence emerge over time. This is why using FSD is the ultimate signal for what Tesla is. It is how you can realize that Tesla made the right decision going all in on intelligence over sensor bloat. These sorts of moments occur often in driving, and you won’t be able to scale any AV to places like this until you have complex, high density intelligence per kWh. CNET after testing Tesla FSD V14: I Drove Over 100 Miles With Tesla's Latest Full Self-Driving and Never Touched the Wheel. "Four days, 4 hours and 100 miles through San Francisco. I'm now fully convinced Tesla's FSD system is the future of driving. It drove me through it all. Tight curbside streets, janky parking garages, rain-slicked freeways, and even the crooked mess of Lombard Street -- both in dry and wet weather -- all without a hiccup. It handled it better than some people I saw reversing down driveways. I never felt the need to take over. Parking was the cherry on top. It would pull into or reverse into spaces, even in tight garages. Occasionally, I'd pick the exact space I wanted, but most of the time, I just let it do its thing. And it did it well. I've used Autopilot plenty, in the UK where FSD isn't a thing. But FSD is miles ahead. I'd be lying if I said it didn't feel slightly magical. I've never driven in San Francisco before. I didn't know the streets. But the car did. And I trusted it. That's the key takeaway here: I trusted the system. At no point did I clench, panic, or even hesitate. These flashing yellow lights indicate to a driver that the traffic lights ahead are about to change to red. We have these in Canada (BC specifically) on high speed roads, and they make a ton of sense. I would _love_ if FSD understood what these were and acted appropriately - but I worry since they're somewhat uncommon that'll never happen. Posting this here in the off chance that someone from Tesla AI sees. Let me know in the comments if you have this where you live. I was surprised on YouTube to hear how many places did not have this.

I used to get the worst anxiety driving, especially in the mornings. Traffic, people cutting you off, rushing to get everywhere at once… it just felt chaotic. But using FSD on my Tesla awd has honestly changed that for me. Instead of gripping the wheel and bracing for the next sudden move, I can actually breathe. The car handles the flow of traffic so smoothly, and the drives feel calm and peaceful instead of stressful. It’s like the difference between surviving the drive and actually enjoying it. This morning wasn’t chaotic. No tension, no racing thoughts. I let FSD do its thing, put on some music, and just relaxed. I even made a Starbucks run and didn’t feel rushed or overwhelmed, just present. About to head out again and actually looking forward to the drive. Never thought I’d say that. ☕️🚗

Releasing Three-Roads (MIT License) It's the road library i built for my open world game, it contains an authoring library with a lane-aware graph structure, a threejs mesh renderer and a SVG renderer Most roads are modeled after german road topology, however it is quite easy to change it to any system you want. At its core, roads are defined as a collection of (curved) edges with nodes representing either extension points or junctions. You can split and merge lanes at any point on a road. Markings follow some logic, but might require adjustments depending on your use case. Highway ramps require some conscious effort to connect cleanly with inner city roads. The junction logic can be a bit messy depending on what edges flow in or out, i didn't go through all thousands of combinations but just fix them with codex as i build more roads in the city. It does not contain any props, except for a few in the demo app. Props are placeholders in the actual library, so you can place whatever you want for trees or street islands or highway signs. There is a documentation on how to author roads in the bottom of the readme Have fun guys, you can build quite sophisticated and complex road networks with it. There are limitations, after about 8 edges on a junction the topology can become very messy DEMO: Link to repo in first reply

70 in a 55? ✅ Roll a stop sign? ❌ FSD 14.1.2 Mad Max seems to be for heavy, aggressive traffic so you can fit in better. On open roads, it's going to speed like crazy, so it doesn't make sense to use there. And it's optional, so if you don't like it of course you never have to turn it on. Part of me gets it, but part of me wonders why Tesla would even bring this possible scrutiny on FSD when they already got a slap for rolling a stop sign, which like 99% of drivers do, and I feel is safer to do in many situations anyway.

I’m increasingly confident in FSD and let situations play out I never would have before. Last night my wife was yelling at me about this SUV speeding through a parking lot. It was pretty obvious they were going to try and exit pit lane ahead of me. No problem. But then they panicked stopped. FSD handled it fine. My wife was full of rage at the idiot though. I don’t get road rage anymore on FSD. I’m just chill.

I’m increasingly confident in FSD and let situations play out I never would have before. Last night my wife was yelling at me about this SUV speeding through a parking lot. It was pretty obvious they were going to try and exit pit lane ahead of me. No problem. But then they panicked stopped. FSD handled it fine. My wife was full of rage at the idiot though. I've been using FSD in my Tesla Model X for nearly a year. Here's the Good, the Bad and the Ugly on Tesla's FSD... The Good: - FSD is bar far, the most advanced driving technology I've ever experienced in any vehicle. - I use it every day, on every drive. Why? Because it reduces my driving work substantially. It keeps the car centered in the lane, keeps an appropriate following distance, stops for red lights and stop signs, turns where I need to turn and handles 99% of my driving tasks. - I think driving with FSD is FAR safer than driving without it because it reduces the "dumb" mistakes that drivers make that cause accidents. Mistakes like being distracted and missing the fact that the light is turning red or that the car in front of you just hit the breaks, or swerving out of your lane, or forgetting an exit or a turn and trying to make a heroic move to stay on course. All of these things are handled by FSD with grace and it likely is saving countless accidents. - Long drives and road trips are a pleasure with FSD because you are not fatigued with the many thousands of micro driving tasks, such as keeping the car centered in the lane or even worrying about where you're going. The car does all of that for you (and Navigate on Autopilot also does 95% of this for road trips). - When I use FSD, I have near-0 road rage, never speed up rapidly for no good reason and I am generally a more relaxed driver. The Bad: - Sometimes FSD has Schizophrenia, sees things that aren't there, slows for no reason, is indecisive on whether to go or stop which causes it to do extreme movements of the steering wheel, breaks and accelerator. In most of these circumstances, it's not unsafe, but as the driver sitting in the driver's seat, it is quite embarrassing, especially if you have passengers in the vehicle. - There are times when FSD makes a truly unsafe mistake, misses a red light (super rare) and tries to go when it should clearly stop, or slams on the break because it thinks a car might cross paths when the car was clearly not going to. In all these instances, it's super easy to take over and correct FSD's mistake. I don't even think twice about it...I quickly take over, correct the mistake, and put it back on FSD. The Ugly: - FSD is nearly useless in parking lots. It is surprisingly bad, especially since Elon Musk introduced the "Summon" feature long before FSD was released publicly. He said "just like humans, the AI also needs to learn driving by starting in the parking lot." 5 Years later, Summon still sucks and FSD has no idea how to drive in a parking lot. - Despite the many praises that a specific release often gets on Twitter, my personal experience has been that a new release could actually be worse than the previous version. For example, when my FSD upgraded from 10.69 to 11.3, it lost its ability to get in & out of HOV lanes on the freeway (I live in Scottsdale AZ). This simple loss of functionality (which returned with 11.4) caused numerous missed exits and route delays due to my over-reliance on FSD. - FSD makes some incredibly bad choices that are unexplainable, like certain lane changes, or last-second preparation to try and make a turn from 3 lanes away. These mistakes get better and worse with each release...it's a mixed bag as to what you're going to get with an update. - Your car's FSD never ever learns or improves by user input (not without an update). So it will make the exact same mistake in the exact same location, every, single, time. That can be super annoying. Conclusion: Despite the shortcomings, FSD is a technology marvel that I prefer not to live without. I don't see myself having a primary car that doesn't have Tesla-level FSD capabilities anytime in the future. Even the basic Autopilot features of Tesla are far superior to any other vehicle I've experienced. And despite what Elon says, the rate of improvement that I have experienced in the past year will not put it on a trajectory to be ready without a backup driver anytime in the next year or two. But with a backup driver, FSD is incredible, makes driving safer and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

These mistakes get better and worse with each release...it's a mixed bag as to what you're going to get with an update. - Your car's FSD never ever learns or improves by user input (not without an update). So it will make the exact same mistake in the exact same location, every, single, time. That can be super annoying. Conclusion: Despite the shortcomings, FSD is a technology marvel that I prefer not to live without. I don't see myself having a primary car that doesn't have Tesla-level FSD capabilities anytime in the future. Even the basic Autopilot features of Tesla are far superior to any other vehicle I've experienced. And despite what Elon says, the rate of improvement that I have experienced in the past year will not put it on a trajectory to be ready without a backup driver anytime in the next year or two. But with a backup driver, FSD is incredible, makes driving safer and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Perfect example of the RDW cyclist nerf! FSD not only goes on the shoulder of the road but far out in the bank! Slowly but with confidence and it nicely swerves to the shoulder for two cyclists. Oncoming bikes on a curved road however? That’s the nerf at work. It’s so scared of bikes and especially so when they come at you on a curved road. I knew it would have difficulty and it tapped the brake. It handled it but with too much FUD. I’ll upload some cases where the car breaks more heavily for you to see what this nerf actually looks and feels like, and how non sensical and unsafe it actually is to have this cyclist anxiety.

I think everyone should listen to this. Tesla FSD has gotten so incredibly good that people are now getting so hung up on the lingering issues and completely dismissing the fact that we literally have self-driving cars. When I grew up the idea of a self-driving car was something out of science fiction. Ten year old Devin could have never guessed that later in life his car would be driven by electricity and drive itself. The future is cool, appreciate it for what it is and don't get too hungup on the imperfections along the way. Tesla is actively putting out new updates as fast as they possibly can to continue to make FSD better - let them cook, and enjoy the ride.

Unbelievable!! Sorry to say, but some people really don’t deserve to own a car. This is basic driving, and clearly this person doesn’t even understand that. If he struggles like this, I doubt he can handle normal roads let alone the hills. Such driving doesn’t just risk his own life, it endangers everyone else on the road too. And honestly, just owning a Thar doesn’t mean you automatically have the skill to drive in the mountains.driving.He seriously needs driving lessons for his family’s safety and for everyone else’s! 🙏🏻

Tesla has now blocked the FSD hack completely in Europe so no one has access anymore. I think they did the right thing. It was an incredible experience. I wasn’t trying to cause any trouble for Tesla or anything like that I was just super excited about the technology I’ve been waiting for forever. I really needed to try it myself. I know some people will probably get mad or say it was dangerous, but honestly, since I’ve gone back to fully manual driving, I feel noticeably less safe on the road. It’s truly exceptional technology. Disclaimer: This hack has now been blocked everywhere in Europe, so these videos are from before the block it’s no longer possible or legal at all.

Did you know that around 84% of Mahindra Thars in India are on full EMI? And look at what people end up doing with them within the first two years. Trust me 10 years from now, you won’t see a 10-year-old Thar on the roads, unlike the cars we have today. Without even being in the mountains or risky zones, someone managed to topple theirs in the middle of flat fields. The truth is, it has poor tyre quality, zero real suspension comfort, and questionable stability control. Many owners simply can’t handle the vehicle; I drove one for two years and can say it nearly cost me my life due to tyre issues. The day I sold my Thar was a relief. I don’t understand why people treat cars like toys ₹20–25 lakh worth of metal destroyed in minutes. India really needs to phase this vehicle out, or at the very least, the government should guide and regulate its use before it becomes a serious societal problem.
