Using MeshyAI alongside Blender with Codex/Astra for 3D game creation is such an unlock for higher-fidelity characters (the models aren't great at procedurally creating characters in my experience) My workflow starts by generating high-res image refs (in t-pose and nothing else in background) of target characters in Codex/GPT Image 2 (or finding some online) The model then handles image-to-3d via Meshy REST API, as well as rigging + animating the models and integrating them into target game (the latter piece is where frontier models really stand out) I always have the agent create a local studio page so I can view and interact with the generated models! Tl;dr: Bowser T-pose image → 4 Blender reference images → Meshy image-to-3D → Blender cleanup (3M → 35K triangles) → Meshy auto-rigging → walk/run animations → interactive Three.js viewer

Can GPT-6 Astra actually create a 3D model like this? 🤔 I’ve been seeing people hype GPT-6 Astra looooot when it comes to 3D modeling, but can it really create 3D models with this level of detail? Wish i had access to try it,.. anyway, I created this one using Tripo as my lil submission to Tripo’s Companion Challenge where you have to create a 3D companion of your choice. I generated a bunch of different imaginary companions using GPT Image 2.0, from cute little dragons and humans to these adorable animals. After trying out a lot of different ideas, I finally settled on this panda in a bamboo forest look. I love how quickly you can go from having a random idea in your head to actually seeing it come to life, these days. That part is honestly so much fun. Now I just need to animate this little guy and turn it into an animated panda game or maybe 3D print it out haha #tripop2

Day 6 of building the game I've wanted to play for 15 years with AI. 3D models day. The first castles are in: a Hero Castle and a Human Castle. I'm attaching the build process of one of them, it shows my whole workflow. I took my time with this one and worked the details with soul. Generated separate pieces, assembled them into something I liked, textured the whole thing together, tweaked, polished, dropped it into the game. I can't stop staring at it. This is exactly what I wanted. Added animated flags on top. Ridiculously satisfying to watch. Then fog of war, plus a few mechanics fixes. Fog of war sent me straight back to childhood. I just sat there enjoying it and feeling nostalgic. I needed this part in the game. Also spent time on tree models and a few other assets. I'll show those tomorrow. The visual jump is big. I now simply like everything I see on screen.

What is really useful is how GPT-6 Astra got better in spatial understanding. I'm still shocked how good it navigates 3D space. Here I gave it Blender MCP and Tripo P2.0 to generate optimized 3D models and put them together, rig and animate. Result is freaking awesome! Doing 3D objects procedurally with Astra is fun, but quality is not compared with what 3D Gen can do. Like you don't ask GPT to draw image with pen when there is GPT Image, same here. And token cost also speaks for it, 3D gen simply cheaper. But the way it assemble thing together, characters and scene, that is shocking ngl. And rigging of course, I have so much hope on it, it is most annoying part of 3d for me lol

That is where AI 3D gets financially interesting. You are not saving $20 on a stock image. You are potentially deleting thousands of dollars of modeling and visualization work before a client even sees the first draft. The render is cool. The invoice it kills is cooler.

I asked Astra to create a Catan game in three.js and it came out incredibly well. I played it, and the animations make it so much fun. The instructions and info cards make the game easy to learn. It even has AI players and trading. Astra used another game I had started building as a reference. The more games I build, the more skills and assets I have for the next one. It can remix the UI, 3D models, pages, and sounds instead of rebuilding everything. Now I want to see how many other board games I can make from this foundation.

Unity 6 + Opus 4.8 built a Minecraft-style game with just 2 prompts 😱 The first prompt took around 15 minutes. The second prompt took around 40 minutes. I wrote down everything I wanted for the first version, GPT expanded it with more details, and I sent it to Opus. Less than an hour later, I had a playable game. I actually spent more time setting up Unity 6 than building the game itself. It's wild to think about where this is heading. If 2 prompts can do this, imagine what an entire project looks like when every feature is built this way. Congrats to Anthropic. What they're building is incredible.

I wrote down everything I wanted for the first version, GPT expanded it with more details, and I sent it to Opus. Less than an hour later, I had a playable game. I actually spent more time setting up Unity 6 than building the game itself. It's wild to think about where this is heading. If 2 prompts can do this, imagine what an entire project looks like when every feature is built this way. Congrats to Anthropic. What they're building is incredible.
