Features: - It is independent from the scene complexity and materials. You can blend any amount of objects and any type of materials (except transparent materials); - Works with both EEVEE and Cycles - No need to modify meshes and materials.

I really like it so far. Have you considered adding noise to the blend, so it looks a bit more natural?

Can the meshes be imported into UE5 with this effect applied?

Can we bake the result? or it is just gpu side illusion?

Shahzod Boyhonov's profile picture
Shahzod Boyhonov1 year ago

No, it can't be baked. It is a post-processing effect that is applied only to the final render

Can you bake the resulting blended texture as well? That would be incredibly helpful for video game optimization

Shahzod Boyhonov's profile picture

unfortunately no. It is a post processing effect.

Shoot. Ah well, still a great in blender effect

@SMOUSE_CG So, I guess it is different to blendit because yours is post process while blendit is a shaderhack? Is that right? Could you maybe explain the difference, please? Your addon looks very smooth and responsive. Good work!

can we get the same thing but with Unity/other game engines?

Yes, UE already has a plugin called MeshBlend. Same thing can be implemented in Unity or other engines.

could it change size depending on how steep the angle is where two things hit each other? (not a feature request, just curious. I don't do any 3D)
