Testing NPCs traveling along roads. They use map information to navigate through the world (in this case find the closest road), even when they're kilometers away from the player. When the player gets close, they spawn and use the pathfinding algorithm I mentioned before.

Glad to see that you are still passionately working on the Game

I think that the algorithm should have some tolerance values to prevent multiple NPCs start following the same shortest/best path.

PLEASE REMOVE THE ZONE RESTRICTION PLEASE

Would love to be able to recruit NPCs for / build your own home town to bring all your treasure back too. Defend it from sieges etc.

Can they be set up to move slower than the player? It looks like they'd be hard to catch up to.

Maybe make it so that the NPCs don’t run all the time but walk slowly chilled most of the time. And maybe sometimes they run :)

Will all of this be a big update for Cube World or will it be a separate delivery?

Do NPCs still navigate when not-rendered? You mentioned they spawn in when near-by and then start using pathfinding, but what happens if you despawn them by going a decent distance then come back in? Do they just appear the way they were previously, or do they simulate travel?

Looks like they are all on a mission to get to the town.

Fantastic start to your NPC system. I'd just try to make it less robotic, seems they zig-zag to touch the outside of the path and then immediately head to the center. More of a natural walk eventually will look great. Great start! Talent system next :P ?

Is there an NPC spawn limit? Or I can walk following and NPC unlimited time to collect an NPC army?

It would be insanely cool if you added guilds and squads, allowing them to explore in groups and not by themselves, it'd give the game much more lore

Just wanted to say thank you for Cube World, and for sharing these glimpses into its development with us. I first got the game in 2013 and have been following to this day, and I look forward to every new post :)
