Testing out the Face and new Hand Controllers! Rotating the bones above each finger rotates the fingers side to side so you can create peace signs, Vulcan salute etc. There's still some cleanup to make it more user friendly but I'm very happy with the progress! #blender #b3d

The Rig itself is Rigify but the controllers are custom bones

Impressive rigging and control. Which is my next step in tackling But honestly mate this is great work and bet animators appreciate clean controls with simple, easy to understand setups Which again, the demonstration is very expressive

$Making progress with my hand rigging! This is just the Rigify rig, no correctives or extra bones. I think it's passable, the thumb is probably a fraction too long, and the animation is a bit stiff, but it works for my purposes and I'm open to any help/critiques! #blender #b3d$

The #geometrynodes Curve Normals Proxy Rig is almost ready! You place it on the face and adjust some controls to line things up, and it just works. The controls can be worked with in lots of different ways. You can attach it to an existing rig or animate it. Those bones are controlling a mesh which controls the curve points, so you can also make Shapekeys on the meshes instead and Drive them to match other expression keys! The forehead above the top curve blends to Radial Normals, and under the chin blends to the actual mesh Normals. I'm adding the rest of the controls to allow completely arbitrary Normals per curve point, and then its just cleanup and it can be released! (There's lots more that can be added to it like falloff and interpolation controls, but if I try to put everything into the first version it'll never release.)

🆚Can you notice the difference? Here's something you might not know behind the scenes: I'm not as perfect as the videos make me seem. The finger animations you see have all been cleaned up. I have to painstakingly pull out each finger that sinks into the fretboard, frame by frame. Depending on the song, this process can take me up to 10 hours, So, this is why I’m so low-output😭. I've tried automation, like using scripts to keep fingertips from going beyond the fretboard plane, but the results weren't satisfactory, manual correction still looks better. This is the cost of using Leap Motion for the left hand, it’s more flexible, but the larger range of motion also causes these clipping issues. After cleanup, the fingers no longer clip, but they can look a bit stiff. So, I’m searching for a more accurate and efficient solution. I’m considering trying Rokoko’s mocap gloves, but—but—they’re so expensive! 😭

Finally got some time to work on Three.js Water Pro again. Testing out the new foam trails system tonight. Each buoyant object has its own foam generator so you can customize the foam trail for each object (size, decay, opacity, etc.). Foam system now includes wave crests, surface, shoreline, and trails! Last feature remaining for the V2 release is sea spray. This one has proven to be a bit tricky so I'm still testing out different solutions.
