Glad to attend the dedication of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and the flagging off of 4 freight trains at the hands of Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji (Online) along with Hon Governor Jishnu Dev Varma ji. The 4 new freight train services on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor include New JNPT (Mumbai), New Sanand, New Makarpura and New Umbergaon. Developed at a cost of ₹1.24 lakh crore, the corridor is a transformative project connecting North India with the western coast. Designed to facilitate double-stack container movement, the corridor will improve connectivity between Maharashtra and other states and further establish the state as a major logistics and maritime hub. With JNPT and the upcoming Vadhvan Port, Maharashtra is poised to enhance its maritime infrastructure, expand its presence in India’s growing maritime economy.
