Adeeba Baloch, daughter of forcibly disappeared Zaheer Baloch, who was enforcedly disappeared by Pakistani forces on 13 April 2015, has now staged a sit-in (dharna) late at night on Panjgur CPEC Road and this time for the safe release of her brother, Zeeshan Baloch, who has now also been forcibly disappeared by state-backed death squad on 29, June 2025. Zeeshan and his family had been actively struggling for their father’s release and now Zeeshan himself has been enforcedly disappeared by the same state that refused them justice. Instead of responding to their pleas, the state deepened their pain. The family had already been receiving threats for their peaceful campaign to recover their father. Beebow has been in a Pakistani prison since March 22, 2025. She went on a hunger strike after being tortured and illegally transferred from Huda Jail in Quetta to Pishin Jail. Her health has been very poor, especially over the last three days. She hasn’t eaten for several days and hasn’t had water in the last two days. Her blood pressure was dangerously high, she was vomiting blood, and it wasn’t being treated properly. Authorities told her she would be taken to BMC or Civil Hospital, and she asked to inform her lawyer first. They refused and instead took her to CMH, where blood was forcefully taken from her. After that, the hospital staff left, and ISI officers came in. They blindfolded her, tortured her for around five hours. Assistant Commissioner Quetta Captain Retired Abdullah bin Arif was present during this time. He is the same person who had previously arrested Mahrang and Beebow during a protest.Then they sent her back to Huda Jail around 4 a.m. on May 3. Unlawful Detention of BYC Leaders and Denial of Access to Families and Legal Counsel Constitute Grave Human Rights Violations On June 8th, leaders of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) were unlawfully transferred from Hudda District Prison in Quetta to the Civil Lines Police Station on a 10-day remand. Since their transfer, they have not been seen, and authorities have denied access to both their families and legal counsel. This complete lack of transparency has raised serious concerns about their safety, including fears of potential torture in custody. In response, the families of the detained leaders gathered in front of the Civil Lines Police Station to demand their legal and moral right to visit their loved ones. The Superintendent of Police informed them that no meetings would be permitted without a court order. However, even after obtaining the necessary court directives, police have continued to deny access. Only the mothers of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Beebow Baloch have been granted brief visits, while all other family members and legal representatives remain barred. In protest against these illegal and authoritarian actions, the families have initiated a peaceful sit-in outside the Civil Lines Police Station. We urgently call on national and international human rights organizations to intervene and hold the responsible authorities accountable. The state’s unconstitutional actions and continued targeting of human rights defenders must not go unchecked. But no such board was ever formed. We repeatedly asked: on what legal grounds are they still imprisoned after June 22? The only response we received were baseless excuses that the ‘situation outside isn’t suitable,’ so they are being held for 15 more days. We challenged this, no individual has that authority. Only a formal Review Board can decide. Still, no official notification was provided. Our time was wasted. We went to the jail and waited the entire day. When we insisted, they finally brought a document but strictly forbade us from copying or photographing it. We were shown nothing official. No Review Board ever met. This is a completely illegal act. In March 2025, they were arrested under 3 MPO. After three months, the government issued more than 40 FIRs against them, including various types of cases. We have faced these cases not only in courts but also in multiple districts, including Noshki, Dalbandin, Makuran, Naseerabad, Mastung, Kalat, and Khuzdar. These courts not only granted bail but also upheld the rule of law. In Quetta, we applied for bail in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) before Judge Muhammad Ali Mubeen. He granted bail in many cases; however, in some cases, he later suspended the bail. Despite this setback, we did not lose hope and approached the Balochistan High Court seeking justice in those bailable cases where the ATC had suspended bail. For the past two months, Chief Justice Kamran Mullah Khel has reserved his judgment, but no decision has yet been announced. This situation clearly reflects that the justice system of Pakistan is under pressure from state institutions, commonly referred to as the Establishment. Meanwhile, in Hudda Jail, Dr. Mahrang Baloch and her colleagues have been facing jail trial proceedings for the past six months. During this period, the proceedings have not been conducted fairly or smoothly. Judge Muhammad Ali Mubeen who previously suspended bail in some cases has raised serious concerns about impartial justice. Our legal team, along with Dr. Mahrang Baloch, requested the transfer of the case to another judge. However, not only was this request denied, but the judge also threatened to add more charges against them. This is not merely a denial of justice; it is a direct threat to peaceful political activists who are the voice of their nation.

The protesting families of Zaman Baloch and Abul Hassan Baloch were attacked today by state-backed individuals. These individuals drove a car into the protesting families, resulting in the critical injury of Jhanzab Baloch, a minor. Jhanzab is now being shifted to Karachi for treatment. This brutal incident is an utterly disgraceful act by the state and its puppet civil administration. Abul Hassan and Zaman Baloch were detained by the notorious drug lord Hoothman Baloch on December 17, 2024. The following day, their families held a detailed press conference. Shamefully, after more than two weeks, the CTD charged them with fabricated and baseless FIRs. Despite registering these false charges, the detained individuals have yet to be presented before any court. The families are deeply concerned about their wellbeing, as incidents of enforced disappearances, killings, and the dumping of Baloch individuals are escalating daily. Abul Hassan and Zaman Baloch were detained by the notorious drug lord Hoothman Baloch on December 17, 2024. The following day, their families held a detailed press conference. Shamefully, after more than two weeks, the CTD charged them with fabricated and baseless FIRs. Despite registering these false charges, the detained individuals have yet to be presented before any court. The Karachi Police and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have launched a violent crackdown on peaceful Baloch citizens and members of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). The BYC had planned a mobilization campaign in Liyari, leading up to an event on January 25 in Dalbandin. However, when party members and participants arrived at Miran Naka near Liyari, they were met with force, baton charges, and arrests by the Sindh Police. Several BYC members were illegally arrested, including Lala Wahab Baloch, the Central Deputy Organizer, and Sammi Deen Baloch, Fouzia Baloch, and Amna Baloch. The area has been besieged, with police targeting only Baloch citizens. Sammi Deen Baloch is being held at the Karadar Police Station, while Lala Wahab Baloch is at the Chakiwara Police Station. The police are reportedly harassing and threatening Sammi Deen Baloch and kept in jail alone. She escaped an assassination attempt just yesterday.
