Josh West intentionally grabbed and pulled on the steering wheel of a Tesla Robotaxi during a ride to see what would happen. He did it multiple times from the backseat. The Robotaxi responded by braking, giving safety alerts, and contacting support. He also unbuckled his seatbelt while the vehicle was moving and, after the ride, put one of his own stickers on the Robotaxi. The Tesla team reviewed the trip, cited safety violations and property damage, and suspended his Robotaxi access. Then he turned around and made a video titled “I Got BANNED From The Tesla Robotaxi Network… So You Don’t Have To!” No… You didn’t do this “so we don’t have to.” Nobody needed you to grab the steering wheel of an unsupervised Robotaxi. Nobody needed you to intentionally trigger its safety systems. Nobody needed you to put your sticker on a vehicle that doesn’t belong to you. You did it for content. And this is exactly the kind of stupid shit that pisses me, many investors, and many hardworking employees on the Tesla team off. The Tesla team has spent YEARS working their asses off to make unsupervised Robotaxis a reality. In May, Elon Musk told CNBC that Tesla's Austin "Robotaxis" would be fully autonomous. This turned out to be a total lie. 6 months later, Tesla's Robotaxi still has a human supervisor behind the wheel! We took a Waymo back from dinner to compare it to the Tesla Robotaxi service. We noticed the steering wheel was way more jittery, less smooth creeping, and had a phantom braking incident in the first block and the brakes were super jerky. Way less smooth than the Tesla overall. Less confident around pedestrians, weird lane bias issues and not as seamless as the Tesla. Plus had 2 phantom braking incidents. Wasn’t a great ride, but still cool. Flew into the parking lot way too fast also. Love how Tesla has the cloud profiles with all your info too. Pure vision and neural nets>

Tesla is engineering safety right into the Cybercab! A Tesla employee in a production Cybercab simulated a drop-off and pick-up near downtown Austin. He exited from the passenger door, re-entered from the passenger door, and slid over to the driver’s side. The Cybercab’s seats have no middle obstruction, which allows an easy slide across to either side. This makes it safer to exit while avoiding oncoming traffic. The Cybercab can also park very close to the curb and open its butterfly doors upward to avoid scrapping or hitting the curb. I think I’m the only Korean in the world invited to Tesla’s Cybercab launch this week. And from what I can tell so far on 𝕏, Tesla/Elon invited only around ~20 or so people, not counting +1s. But that’s the part I can’t stop thinking about… Why make an event this important THIS exclusive? Cybercab is a vehicle with no steering wheel and no pedals, built from the ground up for autonomous transportation. If Tesla pulls this off at scale, it will completely change what a car is, what it costs to move people around, and eventually what transportation itself means. So why invite only a tiny handful of people to witness the beginning of it? There has to be a reason… And whatever happens on September 3, I’m forever grateful to Tesla and Elon for trusting me with an invite to be there in person and witness a moment like this. I really don’t take this opportunity lightly… I’m forever grateful. But September 3 is starting to feel much bigger than people realize…

The only problem with not using your Tesla brakes much is that almost everyone has some surface rust build up. It’s incredibly common, especially in colder climates. Tesla made it easy to remove the surface rust by adding a dedicated Brake Burnishing feature in the car’s native Service Mode. You just follow the visual guides for optimal speed and pedal pressure in order to safely remove surface rust. They make it so easy. 👌🏻

Looks like Tesla stock is about to take a major hit in after hours. An innocent bystander caught this Tesla Van, confirmed to be using Autopilot (by the driver), plowing across the sidewalk. Obviously, we will be interested to see what the telemetry says but there’s no reason to wait for additional details. Richard Blumenthal with deep apologies we take back everything we said about you. Tesla needs to be investigated immediately and under the strictest possible methods. The idea that their technology would allow this is beyond criminal. I’m sure I’m not the only one that just sold all of my Tesla stock and frankly, I can’t believe I was ever tricked into buying it.
